LAC Club Rules
Please remeber our club water is part of a nature reserve.

1. Only current members of the Lakeside A.C. are allowed to fish this water (Red Barns Pond) and holders of valid 'Day Exchange Tickets'.

2. All members must hold a current Environmental Agency Rod Licence

3. No fish to be removed from club waters or introduced without authorization from the Environmental Agency.

4. No unruly behaviour or loud noise. Electronic devices are to be kept at a reasonable volume as to not disturb other anglers or users of the nature reserve. This includes but is not limited to: radios, speakers, mobile phones and bite alarms.

5. No one to enter the water except in order to carry out authorised pond maintenance.

6. No metal bait tins to be taken down to the lake. All tinned baits (sweetcorn, luncheon meat, etc) to be decanted into a container.

7.  maximum of 1 kilo dry groundbait or pellets per session.

8. All hooks used must be barbless. Barbed and micro barbed hooks are prohibited.

    The use of 'The Magic Twig' self triggering hooking device is banned from the club water.

9. Maximum of 2 rods to be in use at any one time.

10. Members must only use recognised paths to the waterside and not trespass, nor light fires, damage trees or the river bank.

11. No keepnets except during matches and to be compliant with EA regulations.

12. Under 12s to be accompanied by a responsible adult member (aged 17 years or over) and fish from the same peg.  13 to 16 year olds must also be supervised by a responsible adult but may fish from their own peg.

13. No more than 12 members to fish at any one time unless authorised by the committee.
- NOTE: a junior member accompanying an adult member shall be counted as 1 person if fishing from the same peg. This also applies to adults under the tutelage of another member. (Sharing of the family/disabled access pegs is allowed upon mutual agreement by both anglers.)

14. Proof of membership to be shown to any person having reasonable cause to require it.

15. Members must fish from the designated metal pegs only. Fishing the back of the lake (the nature reserve side) is prohibited and can result in action from both the committee and the council.

16. All ledger rigs must be free running.

17. No night fishing without the permission of the club secretary or his/her nominee.
18. Alcohol is banned while fishing
19. Drugs are banned and use of such when fishing will result in your membership being revoked and, if deemed necessary by the committee, the relevant authorities notified.

 

FISH WELFARE

 1. No keepnets to be used except during matches.

2.  Landing nets to be knotless and made of non-metallic material. They are to be assembled before fishing commences.

3. Recognised unhooking mats to be used for unhooking all fish over 6 inches and must be wet before use to ensure the protective membrane of the fish is kept intact.

4. Return fish to the water as quickly as possible. Ensure all photography equipment is at hand for photos and if weighing, ensure that the fish is quickly weighed and returned safely.

5. When handling fish, ensure you are in a kneeling position if you’re able to and handling the fish over the unhooking mat or water only.

 

WILDLIFE WELFARE

 1. No floating baits to be used.

2. When float fishing, you must reel in your terminal tackle should a waterfowl bird enter your swim and not cast again until it is safe to do so.

3. Do not feed the waterfowl whilst fishing from your peg.

4. you must inform the committee should any wildlife become hurt, injured, hooked or entangled in fishing line.

 

 Any breach of the above rules should be reported to the Lakeside Angling Club committee who will investigate and take appropriate action.
