LAC Constitution  (July 2023)

  1. The name of the club shall be the “Lakeside Angling Club”.

  2. The object of the club is to promote all aspects of angling.

  3. There shall be 4 types of membership, Senior, Junior, O.A.P and Disabled (concessionary)

  4. Membership shall be for the period between the AGM[1]’s

  5. Membership fees will be dealt with by the treasurer or by an appointed club member.

  6. The club has the right to refuse any application for membership.

  7. The clubs’ financial year will terminate on March 31st of each year.

  8. The affairs of the club shall be conducted by an elected committee which will have a Chairman, secretary, treasurer and match secretary.

  9. These will be elected at the A.G.M. and will serve for one year, thereafter anyone prepared to stand again must be re-elected at the following A.G.M.

  10. No member will be nominated in his/her absence, unless written and signed notification of their willingness to stand is received by the club secretary seven days prior to the monthly committee meeting or A.G.M.

  11. Any member wishing to propose or put forward a motion for the committee’s consideration/decision must send it in writing (an email is acceptable) to the secretary a minimum of 3 days prior to the monthly committee meeting or A.G.M.

  12. The committee’s decision on any proposal/nomination is final.[2]

  13. The committee can call an Extra Ordinary Meeting at their convenience but must give 14 days’ notice to members.

  14. Alterations, amendments, rescinding or changing of any club rules, match or angling rules or of the club constitution can only be made at an A.G.M. or E.O.M [3]

  15. Members found guilty of breaking club, match or angling rules, or commits any act detrimental to the club or its members will be asked to attend a meeting with the committee who will attend to the matter accordingly.

  16. The committee is empowered to terminate or suspend the membership of any member if they are found guilty of any offence. There shall be no refund of subscription to the offender.

  17. Children under the age of 12 must be supervised and accompanied at all times (and fish from the same peg) by a responsible adult. Children 13 to 16 may fish from a separate peg but again must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult.

  18. The club does not accept any responsibility for accidents, injuries, theft or damage on the club water(s), or in matches or trips to other venues.
