Match Rules

​

  1. All matches to be pegged.

  2. Signal to commence and end match will be made by match secretary or his/her deputy.

  3. Time, date and duration of the match will be stated on the match list.

  4. Time, date and duration of any match may be changed at a previous club meeting according to circumstances.

  5. Competitors on still waters will fish from pegs identified and numbered by a match official.

  6. You may fish as far as half the distance between your peg and the peg either side.

  7. On flowing water you can fish from either a permanent peg, or a peg number placed by a match official, or move to within one                  yard of the peg downstream of your allocated peg.

  8. If both banks are pegged, the casting limit shall be half way between you and the peg opposite.

  9. Keepnets must be knotless and no less than 8 feet in length with circular rings of not less than 15 inches in diameter                                    (or 15 x 12 inches if rectangular) and rings spaced no more than inches apart throughout the whole of its length.

10. No fish to be kept in nets for longer than 5 hours.

11. Competitors will only fish between start and finish of a match. If a fish is hooked on before 

      or on time, you will be allowed 15 minutes to land the fish, as long as you shout ‘Fish On” immediately time is called.

12. All tackle to be withdrawn from the water when “Time” Called.

13. Landing nets to be knotless and assembled before fishing commences.

14. Each competitor allowed 1 lb of dry groundbait (approximately one standard bait box full)

15. All fish over 2 oz to be landed with a landing net.

16. The water surface can only be broken for the placing of bank sticks, keepnets, clearing obstructions, mixing groundbait                                or plumbing the depth.

17. No live/dead bait spinning or re hooking.

18. One rod to be used, others pointing away unbaited.

19. All weights recorded to the nearest ‘oz’.

20. No carp to kept in keepnets

21. Carp to weighed and released immediately.

22. No competitor to be weighed in if there is litter on his/her peg, theirs or not it must be picked up.

23. No competitor will be allowed to draw a peg after the match has started.

24. Pools for all matches are optional.

25. There will be no pools at junior matches, only prizes/points.

26. All competitors must have their weights recorded.

27. Scales to be zeroed in before each competitor is weighed.

28. Match Secretary, his deputy or scalesman’s word is final.

29. Any competitor breaking any rules during a match will not be allowed to continue.                                                                                He/She will be asked to attend the next business meeting to explain him/herself.

30. Any club member or competitor found guilty of cheating will be banned from all matches associated with the Lakeside Angling Club

31. Any complaints or objections must be made to the match secretary or club official within 10 minutes after the end of the match. The                complaint will be dealt with by the match secretary on the day or passed onto the committee depending on the seriousness of the                  complaint. All prizes and pools will be withheld pending the outcome. All competitors involved will be asked to attend the next                      committee meeting to put all points forward.

The committee’s decision on the matter will be final.

NOTE: Make things easy for the match secretary and organisers. Be there on time, pay                                          your pools, draw your peg in an orderly manner                                            and everyone will get to their peg in plenty of time.
Accept the scalesmans weight. If you disagree then get a witness- but dont spoil the day by arguing about a couple of grams.
